Now that Lori is no longer around to cause controversy, it’s time to put her character to rest with one final question: Did Lori ever redeem herself? According to series star Sarah Wayne Callies, Lori didn’t get the chance to. But she does admit that some redemption was needed in her relationships with Rick and Carl. Speaking with the press today, Callies touched upon the topic of Lori’s redemption, revealing that her death happened sooner in the season than was originally planned. Who is the man that The Walking Dead season 7 finale was dedicated to? The survivors led by police officer Rick Grimes take refuge in a prison and attempt to set up a permanent camp. ![]() Noah (Tyler James Williams) was killed in The Fosters Exclusive: The Season 5 Family Portrait is Here! He has a war more threatening than his current bout. After Sunday's shocking episode of 'The Walking Dead,' series star Sarah Wayne Callies admits that Lori never redeems herself with Rick and Carl. Because of this, Lori didn’t have a chance to fully redeem herself, though the character was taking steps to do just that. Here’s what Callies had to say: “There were some very specific things that mattered to me to find with Lori in the third season. And redemption was a big part of that – a sense of redemption in her marriage and a sense of redemption with Carl.“And while I don’t think either of those were ever achieved completely – because that would tie things up in a package that’s far too neat for our show, and I don’t think honest in life – I think we took steps down that path in a way that not only dramaturgically served the show, but in a way that I’m grateful to, personally, because I have such a profound affection for Lori.”While Callies’ statement does officially validate all of the Lori critics out there, her point about things being too neat that they become dishonest does have quite a bit of merit. At its core, The Walking Dead is a dense, dark character drama. Instead of large progressions in the series’ storyline, we’re presented with an intimate look at the day- to- day struggle of surviving an apocalyptic event. The normal, everyday decisions that are typically overlooked in any other series are now highlighted while already polarizing characters become even more so – including the decisions they make. So maybe the fact that Lori has critics is ultimately a good thing. ![]() If people weren’t invested in the show, nobody would care about Lori’s decisions or actions. And while it’s true that there were a few things she could have done differently, it’s impossible to deny the fact Lori is responsible for quite a bit of character development on the series. The characters of Shane, Rick and Carl all benefitted from Lori’s decisions, good and bad (in the eyes of the viewer). The Walking Dead takes place after the onset of a worldwide zombie apocalypse. The zombies, colloquially referred to as "walkers", shamble towards living humans and. ![]() While we currently don’t know whether or not that aspect of the comic book will be implemented in the television series, Sarah Wayne Callies has said that she’d love to return to reprise her role, if needed. And if The Walking Dead doesn’t want to use ghosts, they can always do flashbacks. Either way, this may not be the last you’ve seen of Lori Grimes. The Walking Dead Season 3 Episodes. Start Slideshow Sunday's episode of Fear the Walking Dead prompted an interesting conversation among fans. When Madison actor Kim Dickens spoke with a southern accent, many began wondering where it came from. These fans are forgetting a key trait about Madison. Although she was introduced to the series as a guidance counselor living in Los Angeles, California, she was born and raised in Alabama. Most fans of Fear the Walking Dead found it by originally being fans of The Walking Dead, which means most of the audience put together that she is the only character to have revealed a connection to the southeastern part of the country where The Walking Dead takes place. Naturally, when any sort of connection can be made between two series which exist in the same universe, fans begin speculating and theorizing regarding connections. The most popular: Could Madison be related to a character on The Walking Dead? After all, it was only recently revealed that Rick Grimes has a long lost brother.. There was initially a thought of Madison being the sister of Rick Grimes. In The Walking Dead comics, Rick has a brother Jeff who was mentioned very early on in the series and apparently forgotten by big Sheriff brother but not the writers. Earlier this year, a one- shot comic book was released called The Walking Dead: The Alien which followed Jeff Grimes on a journey through Barcelona while the zombie outbreak was fresh. Just as he set sail for the U. S., he revealed himself to be the brother of protagonist Rick Grimes but likely never found big bro seeing as he was bleeding out due to walker bite. Madison's name would have likely been changed for her first marriage which is why she is no longer going by Madison Grimes. The biggest question, which will apply to all of the theories, is why Rick never mentioned his sister out in California or and likewise for Madison's lack of interest in connecting with her brother, a cop who may have had answers about what's going on. Previous. Slide 1/3. Next The next possibility would be Lori Grimes, who seems much more feasible. Lori hardly asked questions about her husband who was in a nearby hospital when the world went down so her sister from across the country would probably be an afterthought. Very little of Lori's past was revealed to the audience, so it is entirely possible that the two characters grew up together in Alabama. Of course, it would be an interesting (however unnecessary) connection between the two shows seeing as Lori has been dead for some time now and Madison will never be able to pull off a family reunion. All things considered, Madison could be related to a number of other characters from The Walking Dead. The Dixon brothers, Carol, or even Andrea. The most likely scenario, however, is that Madison encountered or passed by the characters at some point in their pre- apocalyptic lives before she moved to Los Angeles. It's a small world, after all.
